BF + trois New Album Mastering Adds Grit!

As Fred Drachus of Junior’s Farm Productions digs deep into the mastering of Brad Fritcher + trois’s new album takes, band leader Brad Fritcher has two things to say about the most recent masters:

“This mix makes me feel like I’m back in the studio recreating this take. You can really feel the swag/swing/grits.”

“I like whatever grit there is on my horn, it’s slight but it adds a rugged country back home feel.”

Needless to say, we at Brother Bear Productions are eagerly awaiting the complete masters to make available for digital downloading. #staytuned #BAM

Brad Fritcher + trois consists of Brad A Fritcher (trumpet), Dutcher Wright Snedeker (piano) Christian VanDuinen (drums) and Wyatt J Wallace (bass); four eager musicians who are expanding their artistic vision beyond the strict confines of the jazz genre’s tradition.

The album that came forth from this collective is one that will convey each member's ability to communicate intellectually and musically to themselves, each other and the listener.

BBP presents Brad Fritcher + trois!

The Brad Fritcher + trois project consists of four eager musicians who are expanding their artistic vision beyond the strict confines of the jazz genre’s tradition. After the first rehearsal on GVSU's campus, the trio of Brad Fritcher (trumpet), Dutcher Snedeker (piano) and Christian VanDuinen (drums) knew immediately that they were working with something valuable. Shortly thereafter, Wyatt Wallace drifted into the bass position and into the studio at Blue Lake Public Radio they went. The album that came forth is one that will convey each member's ability to communicate intellectually and musically to themselves, eachother and the listener. After the release of the album, the Brad Fritcher + trois will continue to tether audiences to their concepts and their sound with live and intimate performances.

"The term Black American Music just acknowledges the culture from which it sprung forth. You don’t have to be Black to appreciate and play it anymore than you have to be Chinese to cook and eat noodles." - Nicholas Payton #BAM

That being said...

This weekend begins the sound of a fresh newness for BBP, West MI, and Beyond. The Brad Fritcher + trois will be grinding withPotato Moon's recording engineer, Fred Drachus (Junior's Farm Productions) at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp studio! Their instrumentation ranges from the traditional to the experimental, the melodies are fresh, and the rhythms new and alive. It makes Jazz fun again!

Grasshoppah & BBP fans, Brian Oberlin got a sneak peek at the material for this weekend and had this to say:

"The Architect, Brad A Fritcher (Brad Fritcher + trois) is certainly a musician’s musician. Imagine a collaboration with Grover Washington, Jr.Lee Morgan, and Danger Mouse; funky beats, slick chord changes, and melodic lines built on heavy jazz chops. In the sought after genre, the Architect is original and inventive above all else." – Brian Oberlin (Grasshoppah, Journeymen, BassMandolin, Oregon Mandolin Orchestra, River of the West Mandolin Camp, The Ger Mandolin Orchestra)
